
An amazing view of a starry night
Here at Lake County, California, we have some of the cleanest and clearest air to enjoy the fun and beauty of star gazing. The Taylor Observatory and The Norton Planetarium is now open every Friday night from now until July 24, 2020 from 7:30 pm. – 10:30 pm., for this ongoing very special event.
The Norton Planetarium has just undergone a major upgrade providing a much more stunning and immersive visual experience with a 32 seat seating capacity. Come and be prepared to be wowed! In addition visitors will also have the opportunity to view the night sky through the observatory’s telescopes.
The 16″ research-grade telescope is the star attraction of the The Taylor Observatory’s operation and is computer controlled and capable of locating over 144,000 celestial objects. The 10′ 6″ dome is an Ash Manufactured Dome. In addition several portable telescopes are used for night sky or solar observing.
